Weekly Wishes #15 + Habit Talk

Well, now that I'm back in action. It seems that my last Weekly Wishes was also my last habit post. Once again I'm counting November as a failure. But, today is December, which means it is a new month, and a new chance to make habits and wishes realities.

Oh also, today is Rabbit. I know I probably haven't explained Rabbit before, and it will probably not make much sense, but we'll give it a shot. When my brother was in 1st grade, his teacher would have a competition every month. On the first of the month, the first student to remember to say "Rabbit" to her would get a prize. Somehow, that bled into our family life and into the lives of friends. We don't have a prize, just bragging rights, but it becomes a vicious competition between us all. My brother has sense stepped out of the game (since he likes to sleep and always lost).

So, now that you have a weird little tidbit into my life, here are my habits from the past two months:

The Pinnacle Project

Two months ago for the Make a Habit, Break a Habit I wanted to attempt no poo, wash my face daily, and wear lipstick more often.

I succeeded in all of it, but then failed at face washing and lipstick wearing in November. I was sick or tired too often to keep it up. I stuck with no poo all through November, however I noticed some crazy issues that have caused me to switch back to shampoo, though it is organic and close to chemical free. My pregnancy hormones have wrecked havoc on my hair going from too dry to greasy depending on where I was at in my no poo schedule. I'm too exhausted to figure it out, so I will just try again after I have my baby!

Last month, I wanted to focus on breaking the habit of leaving a mess. I failed at that one miserably. Hello exhaustion! I'm hoping to work on it again soon in the coming months. I also wanted to make the habit of taking my vitamins daily! I succeeded! This is probably because I have to take them for the baby!!

This month, I want to focus on something small - since I'm sleeping a ton I don't want to go all crazy. So I will keep attempting to clean things up, but my habit to make is a bedtime routine! I want to have a bedtime routine that includes QT with Iman as we're getting into bed. Sometimes we fail at going to bed together, but I think we could work something out, so that we have some time together before bed.

The Nectar Collective

My wishes for this week:

1// Clean my apartment and bedroom so we can get a Christmas tree.

2// Get said Christmas tree and decorations.

3// Get through my days without being totally exhausted!!

What are your goals?

Weekly Wishes #14 + Habit Talk

I thought I was going crazy last week when my laptop decided it didn't want to turn on. Like at all. On Friday, I was taking a nap when I nudged it off of the couch and it fell a short way. Then it wouldn't turn on and I was so, so freaked out. My warranty expired in May, as my laptop reached it's 2 year mark, so this is what I like to call dangerous waters. I try to be extra careful with my laptop until I can afford a new one.

But, after much panic, I drove it to my dad's work and somehow he turned it on just fine. -__- It's this crazy computer phenomenon. Something bad is happening on your computer, you tell the person who can fix it, and it automatically works before they do anything to fix it. Whenever my students say " I swear it wasn't working!" I believe them, because it always happens to me.

Today, I am talking about my Weekly Wishes (from two weeks ago, since I was sick last Monday) and it is also time for another Make A Habit, Break a Habit. I think I am going to go with Break a Habit this month.

The Pinnacle Project

Last month for the Make a Habit, Break a Habit I wanted to attempt no poo, wash my face daily, and wear lipstick more often.

I think I succeeded in all of that. I have been doing no poo and loving it!! Today is a hair wash day, actually. I may not wash my face daily (I slacked while I was sick last week), but whenever I wear makeup I am sure to wash my face and I have begun exfoliating every couple of days, so that is definitely a step up! I would say I now wear lipstick 5 days out of 7, which is quite a step up from one to two days a month.,

This month, I want to focus on breaking the habit of leaving a mess. Oh gosh, I know this is a big one. I just want to focus on putting things away as I use them, and doing the dishes regularly. This one is going to be so tough for us!! Iman is doing this goal, too. I also want to make the habit of taking my vitamins daily! I've been trying to do this for months, but maybe this month it will actually stick!

Now for my wishes!

1// Feel Balanced. I think I succeeded at this one!

2// Work at Home Plan. Yes! Hello, #fireworkpeople and your amazingness!

3// Take pictures at my adventures! Yes, we took lots of pictures!

4// Bake something for my grandpa's wake. No, I didn't end up doing this, but neither did my cousin who I was going to bake with.

The Nectar Collective

1// Check things off of my to do list. Got to love this mundane tasks!

2// Make a Habit, Break a Habit. I'm determined!

3// Vote! Tomorrow's the day!

What are your weekly goals? Do you have any habits you want to make or break? Join me in linking up with Melyssa and Lauren.

Embracing Chaos and A Jumble of Everything

Things are chaotic. But when aren't they in my life?

Last week I started a new job - which so far I am absolutely loving!! I will only be at about 32 hours a week there and then my shifts serving too. Last week I worked roughly 63 hours. This week it will probably come in closer to 50-55, which is totally do-able and what I'm used to. But I am going to try to salvage time for wedding planning and blogging and reconnecting with friends (I feel so out of touch).

Iman got a promotion this week too, so the reconnecting with friends part is especially difficult. Add on to that, the fact that a lot of my friends have not been answering my texts or calls (I'm assuming because they are equally busy). So I am going to embark on an easy, rekindle our friendship type of thing.

I need to get back on the wedding planning train...granted it is still 11 months away and we have all of the big money stuff done. But I want to do the fun crafting stuff!

I feel like I am constantly working on bettering myself and getting nowhere. I think I need an attitude adjustment and to celebrate the little things that I am doing. Do you ever feel that way?

This week's celebrations are - a more professional look! (Hair change) and style change! As well as a conscious effort to eat better again and watch my budget. YAY I'm making habits.

First day of work outfit!

Just to show off our Sunday adventures

First day at work!

The next round of habit changes are going to include keeping my room clean and exercising. Maybe if I do it in twos it will stick this time.

I've been using my new planner from Amanda @ Pixies and Periwinkles religiously. I LOVE IT.

Another thing I am completely loving is all of my social media ideas flowing and the canvas of my new job. I really want to focus on building their social media, my social media, and maybe one day even do consulting with social media (like I did for Kymberly Marciano, but more clients!

I've realized that social media is the dream job, along with my beautiful WQ magazine that I still can't seem to narrow down the concept. We will get there some day WQs!

What's been happening in your lives?
