This is my first time doing weekly wishes and I'm super excited about it!
I want to thank everyone who participated in Five Little Grins. I am still writing down the things that make me happy throughout the week, Cassi and I just decided we wanted to move on to write about other things on Mondays.
I love Melyssa from The Nectar Collective and her Monday link up. I think that it will help me to focus and feel less overwhelmed with my week plans.
Here are my first week's goal:
1// Figure out this anxiety thing. I've got a psych appt and lab tests (to make sure it's not my thyroid). My next step is to set up an appointment with a therapist. I need to find one who is on my insurance.
2// Clean our bedroom. I did our guest bedroom about a week or so ago, and we have ALL clean clothes (which, my best friend folded for me on Thursday while I was taking care of my mom because she's a freaking amazing human being)
3// Put fresh flowers in our dining room and light candles. I think this will help with my anxiety.
4// Go to yoga three times, and attempt the gym once. I gotta work slow on this apparently.

I am most excited about the bracelets! they are so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds amazing!
ReplyDelete1.// maybe look into a local college if one isn't too far away. I know sometimes they offer counseling at NO COST if they have that type of program. All of the counselors are fresh out of college or still in college, but they typically have the same amount of knowledge as a therapist who charges money. Hopefully yoga&gym will help as well!! Cleaning my bedroom would just make me more anxious hahaha! This giveaway is uhhhhmazing :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the link up! I've been doing it for about nine weeks and I love it. I like all of your goals and I really hope you can figure out your anxiety. My husband and sister-in-law both have it, pretty bad at times, and the doctor told my husband that exercise is really important when dealing with anxiety. He said it's just as effective as some of the medications offered. It's gotten better for both of them and I hope the same happens for you!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with all things monogrammed right now, especially getting my soon-to-be new one! Marley Lilly is right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI think that my anxiety has gotten worse with age. It's a good thing to have it checked out. Fresh flowers can always make a girl smile!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on finding out about the anxiety, it took almost 6 years for them to find out I had peripheral neuropathy. I spent all those years in pain and not know why. A great way to find a good doctor is to actually talk to your insurance company. If you have an HMO make sure you tell your primary to give you the person they would use in their network. That's how I found an amazing team of doctors who diagnosed me within 6 months of switching to their hospital.
ReplyDeleteI think it is so healthy to set weekly goals like this! Good smells always help me with anxiety and having a nice clear space free of clutter. I think you are on the right track.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I need to do a wishes post, but I keep forgetting, darn it! I love the back to school stuff, it is so cute. I can't believe I have committed to getting my but back into college to finish up a few certificates!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the polka dot prizes! Cute stuff.
ReplyDeleteJust a few small touches (like the fresh flowers and candles you mentioned) can really change the ambiance of a room. Candlelight always relaxes me, so I hope that it helps you to feel less anxious, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy the Weekly Wishes community. I think it's super fun, a great way to stay on track, and a great way to meet a new blogger or two. :) The Amazon gift card and state print are both exciting possibilities. :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing giveaway. I'd love to win it!! The Kate Spade notebook is my fave prize :)
ReplyDeleteMakes me wanna go back to school! :p
ReplyDeleteWhat a awesome giveaway. I will take all of it. lol :)
ReplyDeleteHey, that's what I'm going to win! Love this giveaway!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be most excited to win the Amazon gift card. The entire package is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great giveaway! I loved reading your wishes. I need to put some fresh flowers out, too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! And take your anxiety one step at a time. Remember deep breaths and take it slow. Rome wasn't built in a day ;-)
ReplyDeleteYay! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI need to start doing that and look up a quick flow!! Also, my cat peed on my yoga mat so I need to get a new one! :(
ReplyDeleteOH! There is a community college literally across the street from me. I can see the field from my bedroom window. I will check there and at the university that is down the street, as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope yoga, gym and cleaning would help too!! We were going to make cleaning a drinking game tonight but Iman's tummy hurts.
Also, good luck at the giveaway!!!
Thank you so much!!! I hope so, too! Exercising is one of the hardest things for me to do, but everyone I know with anxiety swears by it. I guess I will get into it when the timing is right. I just keep trying. Thank you for the support
ReplyDeleteYay! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I think mine has gotten worse, too. More things to worry about. Yes, I love fresh flowers!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful!! I'm actually on the hunt for a new primary because I've had my primary for 13 years and every time in the past year he has INTRODUCED himself to me and told me it was nice to meet me. Also, he asked if anxiety had been something that is new or old. I saw him for my anxiety when I was a kid, too! So, I will have to do that once I find a doctor.
ReplyDeleteThank you and good luck with your peripheral neuropathy!
Thank you! I hope we get a chance to clean on Wednesday. We were supposed to tonight, but my husband's stomach was hurting and of course, I'd rather blog!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Do it! I actually went to a meeting about getting my credential today, but I am still going to wait.
ReplyDeleteYay! Polka dots are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you! When we first moved into our apartment we would light a candle before bed, I think I will do it again!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the community seems very great! I love Melyssa - she is one of the sweetest people I've met. I knew I wanted to join in this link up!
Yay! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteahah, right??
ReplyDeletehahaha, yay! Good luck!
ReplyDeletehahaha!!
ReplyDeleteYay!! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYes, fresh floweres are just the best! Until they die. lol.
ReplyDeleteoooh...great giveaway! fresh flowers and candles can seriously do wonders for a room...hoping you get your anxiety figured out! just remember to breathe and take time for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI so need to clean my bedroom too, cool giveaway
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers are always a good idea. I can't believe they change the environment as much as they do. As for the therapist, make sure your really study up on psych medications before you start taking them. Study the pros and cons.
ReplyDeleteooh weekly wishes, yay! Welcome to the linkup, I love it. If you ever need help with anxiety stuff or just want to vent, I'm here. I've been struggling with it and I'm currently going off medication so I've got a fair amount of personal experience (and I fully respect people's freedom to make their own choices re: how they deal with their mental health).
ReplyDeleteLove the weekly wishes! I need to start doing fresh flowers again - I love how it dresses up the table without too much effort! <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! And yoga will def help with the anxiety. Not only is it relaxing, but you'll get all the endorphins and feel proud of yourself :)
ReplyDeleteI've found yoga helps me with relaxing so hopefully it helps you too! Fresh flowers are always nice, I love coming home to the smell!
ReplyDeleteI have heard that yoga is really relaxing. I would love to try it out sometime. Good luck on your second year of teaching!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! That is what I'm trying to focus on!!
ReplyDeleteugh, cleaning your bedroom is the worst!
ReplyDeleteI did a whole bunch of research the past few weeks before I went to the psychiatrist. I am setting up appointments with a psychologist as well. Thank you for the advice!! Fresh flowers really are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a challenge - going off medicine - I wish you the best of luck!! And thank you so much - that means so much to me! I am hoping to be on medication for a short amount of time and manage it again without.
ReplyDeleteyes! I have a cute little teapot that I've begun using as my vase and I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That is exactly how I've been feeling!! Yoga does wonders to the body, I think
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to do more yoga as well!
ReplyDeleteI love yoga, but have not made it a priority in the last few years. Thanks for the reminder: I need to revisit that.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your anxiety! I hope the appts go well :)
ReplyDeletegood luck with your appointment! I've got anxiety and a thyroid disease, so I hope you don't have both of them!
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers make everything better.
ReplyDeleteYoga is a great way to relax and get some exercise too.
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! I'm usually in the same mindset, but I'm trying to make it a priority!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I think they did!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I've been tested for thyroid disease before and it was negative, but it's always best to check again. I will find out soon. Good luck navigating the waters of both of those!
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's halfway through the week and I haven't bought any yet, but the candles have been lit!
ReplyDeleteThese are great wishes, our bedroom is always a mess too. :(
ReplyDeleteit's so easy to be messy!!! I'm trying to work on cleaning
