I've decided to write about how grateful I am for my blog, my blog friends and the opportunities my blog has brought me. I've always been proud to say I'm a blogger - even when no one read my blog. Heck! I love my blog so much, I've got the logo tattooed on my wrist [I recommend it, people will ask and then go follow your blog!]
Through blogging, I've met some wonderful people and made some great friends. This is so special to me, but the part that really tugs on my heart strings is when someone tells me to let them know if they can do anything to help with the Warrior Queen movement. When they tell me that they believe in the movement, I get so excited and jump up and down.
I'm not even joking. Technically, everyone should be in support of something like this. In reality, many people are not. I've had some negative reactions. Some "oh...that's cool" responses. That's okay, they'll understand some day.
With you, my little blog, I've grown so much. It seems every time I had something heartbreaking or out of control you were there for me. The perfect place to fill the ideas my OCD brain comes up with when I'm stressed. I remember the day your name was born. The day my dad finally convinced me to sign up for Blogger. The days I waited to write my first post - terrified that this first post would define me, and define our movement.
But I've grown so much, when I look back at those posts I wrote years ago. My dream has never changed, and I am so grateful to have this space of the internet to pursue that dream.
The magazine may never come to fruition; a brand may never be born and the movement may very well stay grassroots for years to come. Whenever I find other blogs or movements similar, I might feel a twinge of jealous for a moment, and then a roar of excitement because we are out here! We are moving and we are shaking and we're in our own little corners, but one day we will all meet and grow into something big. One day, we will empower and inspire confidence. Self-love is the only thing that can truly heal us, and I think this has got to be my blog theme for the year.
