Sponsor Spotlight: Hello Neverland

Today I want to introduce you to Kenzie from Hello Neverland. She's such an inspirational blogger; I'm sorry I've kept her to myself until now! She is creative and positive. Kenzie's posts fall on a broad spectrum - blog tips, The Writer's Guide, living intentionally, DIY...you name it, she's got something that is going to inspire you!

R: What motivates you?

K: I love seeing what other people can create when they have support and resources--people do amazing things under the right circumstances! I strive to be that source of information and encouragement as much as possible, because the world needs more awesomeness. You never know who you'll influence just by being kind and helpful.

R: What made you start Hello Neverland?

K: Honestly? Boredom. :) Way back when, it was just something to do. But it's grown and evolved into something I love (and hope others do, too!).

R: Where do you think Hello Neverland going in the future?

K: I've got big plans for a few ebooks, expanded service lines, etc. But it'll go where it goes. I do my best to drive the boat in the right direction, but sometimes you have to go with the flow, too.

R: What is your biggest accomplishment?

K: Surviving the first four months of motherhood. That shizz is hard.

R: What is your biggest goal?

K: Eventually I'd like to work for myself. It's a long way off still, but it's what I think about every time I sit down to write. The independent makers, writers, and coaches out there are the people I admire most. It's a new world out there, where nontraditional self-employment is a much more viable possibility for many more people. That's exciting!

#WellBoxed Recap

I've decided to take a break from the #dogood52ways challenge until after the honeymoon! I will definitely still be doing good [and so should you!] but it might be difficult to keep updating everyone on my progress. I would still love to see your do goods on Instagram! I'm going to try to have some wonderful do goods in Europe. Wouldn't that be so fun?

This past week our challenge was to have another dinner without our cell phones! Did you succeed?

I did! In part, my cell phone died while we were at dinner. But I was consciously using it less when I did have it with me, too. I've been doing a lot of that lately. Letting go and being in the moment. It is wonderful!!

I also wanted to tell you all about the #WellBoxed event I went to at the end of March. It was hosted by Bloggers Give Back - my new favorite organization - and a wonderful way for us OC bloggers to get together and do some good!!

#WellBoxed was an event where a bunch of bloggers from SoCal [and at another event in AZ] got together to enjoy pizza and wine while boxing up a care package for someone in the military.

The provided us with supplies for decorating our boxes. I brought in a lot of stamps that say "thank you" :)

I chose to send my box to a girl in the Navy, on a ship, who was on her first trip out. We used Anysoldier.com, so the box was sent to one girl who dispersed it to multiple girls in her group. In my case, there were 5 girls. I included toiletries, WQ bracelets, and a lot of essentials. I did not put any food in there because I did not want the chemicals to contaminate it. I also included a journal.

Here are some of the boxes lined up :)

The truth behind blogger meetups. #NoSuchThingAsTooManyPictures

Here we all are after we finished up!! I am so grateful to these ladies [and Monja] for their companionship!! Pictures taken from Melyssa at The Nectar Collective because I didn't get one from us all!

Now, meet one of my April sponsors, Christine from Life With a Side of Coffee. She was one of the first bloggers I chose to pay to sponsor, and I have had such a blast getting to know her better.
________________

If you were going on a European vacation, what is your must-see city and why?

Life With A Side Of Coffee
If I went on a European vacation I would have to see a whole lot more than one city, that's for sure. I want to travel all over that continent at some point. I would love to go to Italy. If I had to choose one city I think I would pick Portofino. It's so beautiful there and it's all I've been thinking about lately. Just escaping and never coming back to real life. Maybe one day I'll get there and in the meantime I can explore the rest of the country.

What is your favorite way to volunteer in the Spring?
I used to love going to rescue shelters and playing with the dogs that don't have homes. It would be so hard for me to leave them. I just want to take them all home!

Do you have any spring time traditions? What are they?

I have no spring traditions unless you count going shopping for some warm-weather clothes. Unfortunately, we've had one day above 50 degrees here in Chicago so it's still cold-weather clothes for us. One day I'll be able to dust off my spring dresses.

Love Day: Warrior Queen Noor

Happy Valentine's Day!

In the spirit of love, I'm here to share one of my favorite bloggers, Noor! This blog lady is so sweet and runs some of the most fun blogger social events - like the #socialblogger Twitter chat and the Grab a Friend Bloghop. Get to know this lady and give her some Valentine's Day love!

1. What do you love most about yourself?
I (personally) think that I'm so kind. I hate disappointing anyone so all I do is to BE happy and LET everyone happy. It's my most favourite trait , as I think #wink

2.  What do you love about your blog?
I take my blog as a fun place. It's funny , entertaining , connecting in a way and a little bit of real. I'm so proud of where I've taken my blog . From passion to hobby , and even I can brag about my blog . I LOVE it , I blog and it's the most lovely thing about it.

3. Who or what is most important to you?
Family. I am too close to my twin sister than any other person on Earth. Plus I have always been a kid who's always around family instead of any other party.

4. Do you have a favorite love song or quote?
Umm love song? I have been loving "Jai Ho" from Pussycat Dolls and "Story of my life" from One Direction. They both are a little fierce to be called a love song but I'm currently in love with them both. Even I take SOML as a mean-ish song . But chica , love is even mean sometimes.

5. You've  been posting all about the wedding love - what can you tell us about Pakistani weddings?
Pakistani Weddings are SO traditional. There are lots of events but the main are three events. Henna (or Mayon) , Nikah (or Shaadi) and Valima (or reception)
I'm NEVER able to summarize it in this answer , you better read this post and this post.

6. Who is your favorite love interest in a movie? (For example, Noah in The Notebook)
Jamal Malik (played by Dev Patel) in Slumdog Millionaire. He fell in love with the girl in film , I don't remember much but I crush Dev Patel (so hard) so this character is still alive in my mind. I loved his love.

7. What is your favorite thing to do on Valentine's Day?
I'll be honest.... eating Lays or Cheetos with Pepsi . And a many cups of tea. I'm a team-forever-alone right now so it suits me WELL.

Love Month: Warrior Princesses

Ooh, I am so excited to introduce you to these two lovely bloggers today!

I don't quite remember how I met Areeba and her twin, Noor, but these girls are the absolute best! They're so, so funny and keep me laughing late at night when I can't sleep [they're in Pakistan!]. Areeba is one of the sweetest hearts I've ever met and she is obsessed with blogging and blog design! If you're looking for a laugh: head over to her twitter!

1. What do you love most about yourself?
I can make people laugh. I can make them feel better. That's like my super power and I seriously love this thing about me!

2. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?
My mother. I know she's always here with me when I'll need her. Can anything beats motherly love or needs a reason?

3. If your life was made into a movie, who would play your love interest?
Murat Yildirim, please? Most of you might not be familiar with this name, he's Turkish. I've seen only one English-dubbed Turkish drama of his work and I wanted to be his heroine and I ain't even kidding. So I'd choose him!

I met Erin about a month ago and I just love her blog...who couldn't love a blog about favorite things? She's posted a delicious banana bread recipe recently and I was drooling reading it. She's also a teacher, just like me!! Head on over to her blog and check her out...and wish her warmth in that polar vortex! [Although...she looks pretty warm in this picture here].

1. What do you love most about yourself?
I love my red hair! It's very bright and a unique shade, which I just love. :)

2. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?
My parents are the most important people in my life--they are so supportive and fun to be around. I feel so fortunate to have such a strong and close relationship with them!

3. If your life was made into a movie, who would play your love interest?
If my life was made into a movie, Ryan Gosling would be my love interest! Actually, I'm pretty sure we are meant to be together anyways, but just haven't met yet. Hahaha! ;)

Stay tuned for this week's #dogood52ways challenge!

Warrior Princess Sponsor Love

Today, I am feeling ambitious! After I post this I am planning on taking two workout classes. TWO in one day. I might die. I also might have an amazing amount of endorphins. And afterward, I'm going to reward myself with pizza...just because Iman offered and I never get pizza...you guys don't even know. When your fiance is a general manager of a Papa John's you have to beg for pizza.

On Tuesday, after my workout class he had tried to surprise me with a pizza, but I didn't know. So I innocently drove home and he called JUST as I was getting off the freeway by our house. So I made him promise he'd make me one today.

Tonight, is my first work Christmas party in LA. Woo hoo! Boo to traffic. So I'm going to be running around today. I definitely want to share this blog love though and introduce you to my amazing Warrior Princess sponsors this month.

These ladies are amazing and I have loved getting to know them!

Hello! My name is Stacia and I blog over at The Homey Owl. I married my husband Michael this past May and we live in a cute little apartment with our crazy cat, Maximus. On my blog I share peaks into our funny lives, yummy recipes, diy projects, and the occasional fashion-y post. I like to think of it as a minorly eclectic, but always honest and warm, corner of the internet. I am thrilled to be here on Warrior Queen, and find it slightly tongue in cheek because Michael often refers to me as his warrior maiden. When I'm not blogging my heart out, I am a wedding planner, rain dancer, Doctor Who nerd, friend encourager, perpetual hair dyer, and inspiration seeker. I hope you stop by and stay for a while!

[We were pretty much destined to be friends by the warrior maiden reference. just saying!]

After my husband and I got married and moved 10+ hours away from everyone and everything we ever knew, I started a blog to keep people back home in the loop of our life. Since then my blog has grown into so much more than that! I love the community and the hobby that it has become. Pearson (my husband) and I graduated from Harding University (mascot = Bisons) and now Pearson is in grad school at The Ohio State University (mascot = Buckeyes). Hence the title "From Bisons to Buckeyes and Beyond."
