Blogging and Friendship

When I first began blogging, I never realized how much it would affect my friendships. My friends have always been supportive of the Warrior Queen movement, starting my magazine and blogging. They still are very supportive of it. I often get comments on my Facebook posts, other friends come to me for help designing logos and projects and others still get email updates.

I am absolutely so appreciative of all of this. It makes me feel confident that what I am doing really is my path in life. Everyone in my life who knows about my blog is supportive of it. I know that isn't always the case but I am one of those lucky few.

Since I have become serious about blogging, however, I have felt myself changing as a friend. I truly believe that I have been making stronger and firmer friendships. I have become more open about my blogging - sharing it with whoever will listen instead of just with my closest friends.

Through this I have formed stronger working partnerships with friends who might want to collaborate. I have also formed strong friendships with women I would never have met without blogging. These women stretch my mind creatively, in a way that was sorely missing from my life. I am so grateful to every single one of my blog friends - those that I have met in person and those that I have not but talk to daily.

Sometimes my blog friends know more about my life than the friends that live nearby. It is a completely different dynamic, and as blogging becomes more and more clear to me, it takes over more and more of my life.

I'm not sure how my friends feel about my newest friend Jess. I probably see her more often than any of my other friends because we meet and do blog stuff. I truly believe that we would still hang out as much without the blogging. We are just so similar. However when people ask who she is I always say "oh my blog friend that I told you about." Some friends respond with "oh yeah! I can't wait to meet her," while others respond with "oh."

Blog friends and real life friends don't have to exist in two separate parts of life. I think that it's even better when they can come together!!

It is important to have friends in different parts of your life. It is important to have strong friendships, and it is definitely important to have friends who stretch your imagination.

For the first time in a long time, I don't feel in a weird place with my friendships. I feel confident in the friendships that I maintain.

Has blogging changed your friendship and relationships?
