Summer Musts + Giveaway

You guys. I'm hours away from summer vacation...

I can taste the summer air! Can't you?

To be honest, the concept of summer is a little bit bittersweet and scary to me. You see, I'm working from home this summer for my company but I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing yet or when I start. Which means that days after moving into our own place again I have no idea if I can pay rent at the end of the month!

Never fear! I'll figure it out :) Plus, I'm most likely getting an extra serving job so boom! Busy Summer!

I already told you guys a little about my summer plans in my life lately post buuuut I wanted to do a checklist of things that we DEFINITELY HAVE TO DO THIS SUMMER! Are you with me?

It's my unbirthday!

Hi bloggy blog!

My head is a little foggy for reasons unknown so the words coming out of my mouth / fingers don't make the best sense. Or maybe they do and I just don't think they do. My eye's twitching which doesn't usually happen unless I haven't slept. Which I barely did this past week, but slept 10 hours last night. It makes no sense! I had my first Yoga class today, well Yogalates.

Hi, I love yoga now. That was wonderful. Although maybe that is why I am foggy. Super relaxed. I'm drinking Jasmine Green Tea (#teadrinkersunite) and I have a tutoring interview in a few hours. I'm not so sure that I want to tutor, but I am sticking to my obligations.

My to do list has barely been touched this week. I don't know what's going on! So before I say anything to embarrass myself. Let's do a little 25 by 25 recap considering today is my UNBIRTHDAY!!!!

Aka my half birthday. I love this day. Joe's Crab Shack is even giving me a $7 off coupon for my half birthday. So sweet!

I will hopefully have a productive day after this!

1. Keep my room clean every day. This has been a goal since childhood -__-
2. Create and keep a Bedtime Routine.
3. Do a 30-day Challenge.
4. Read 25 books. 4 down!
5. Blog 10-15 x a month. Yes!!! This has become easy!
6. Become confident in my design ability. Almost there!! I am definitely more confident!
7. Make healthier eating habits - don't eat take out for 1 month.
8. Jog 5 miles without stopping.
9. Take my quad up China Wall. This ties in with wanting to go to Glamis more.
10. Donate Blood. This is a big deal as I am afraid of blood / entering the Red Cross buildings
11. Give Chuck some TLC. Most notably - attempt to have $$ to fix exhaust leak, definitely at least replace the Roll Cage Cushion and put in the regular seat belts, detail the inside. Working on it!!
12. Find something for Iman and I to do together regularly (i.e. cooking class or a team)
13. Wear an "outfit" to work every day for a month. Including accessories and makeup
14. Sell something for WQ OMG I am SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!
15. Cook dinner every day for 2 weeks
16. Meet a blog friend in real life. Megalin!
17. Organize my stuff in the garage / storage unit.  Organized and storage unit is gone!!
18. Go Paintballing. We have already purchased 2 packages...we just haven't used any.
19. See a meteor shower with Iman
20. Ride in the Great Orange Balloon.
21. Learn to cook on the Weber
22. Decorate a cake.
23. Make a difficult recipe.
24. Send my OSU friends a letter/card once a month.
25. Start to Vlog again.

Handwriting Analysis

A couple of weeks ago I saw that Amanda @ Niescior's Notes posted a handwriting analysis. A couple of days ago Christina @ Polka Dot Heart did one, too and now I'm joining in.

I'm not sure if I've told you but I'm a little bit obsessed with personality analysis. In high school I used to take all of the personality tests I could find online. I also wrote very detailed About Me's and Bulletin questionnaires because they are so fun. I love to read other people's answers, see their personalities and reflect my own!

Obviously I couldn't pass it up...

What my handwriting says about me:

Size: outgoing, people-oriented, outspoken, love attention [true]
Space: Can't stand to be alone, tend to crowd people and be intrusive [true]
Slant: Don't let your emotions get the best of you; logical and practical [eh, sometimes]
Shape: -- for this one, I literally did ALL of the shapes. Some rounded, some pointy and some connect. -- creative, artistic, aggressive, intense, very intelligent and curious, logical, systematic and make careful decisions [for the most part, I am all of these]
Cursive L: relaxed, spontaneous and self-expression comes easily to you  [yep!]
E space: open-minded and enjoy trying new experiences [yep!]
Dot the I: detail-oriented, organized, emphatic [more or less...]
Where the t crosses: confident, feel comfortable in own skin [yep!]
Length of t cross: determined, enthusiastic, stubborn, hard time letting go [I try to let go...]
O: private, introvert, limited to sharing personal feelings [nope!]
Cursive s: inquisitive and ambitious [yep!]
Write all over: can't sit still or relax [mmhmm]
Pressure: good with committment, high level of energy [definitely]
Speed: impatient, dislikes delays and time wasters [mmhmm]
Signature: confident, comfortable, hard to read / understand [the first half is legible and the last name is hard to read/understand]

For the most part, I think this was fairly accurate. It was hard to figure out my own handwriting. It would be cool to have someone actually take a look at it!! I'm a Gemini and androgynous, so I think it's pretty accurate that I fall on both ends of some things.

Have you ever analyzed your handwriting?
Check it out here!

Sunday Night Hangs

Helllooooo! Anyone out there?

I know I kind of went a little bit missing in the last week. You'll find out why on Wednesday...don't be too anxious though - it's not something horrible!

My weekend was pretty fun and crazy. Now I'm sitting at Coffee Bean letting the blogging juices flow.

I'm attempting to do that whole type all of my blogs on the weekend thing. This will be post #3 I've written for the week. You're so proud!

I wanted to share my super cool and awesome weekend recap.

This pretty momma had her 2nd beautiful girl yesterday morning! TBT to pre-kids :)

Rockin my new Eagles Jersey at JT Schmid's to watch the game

I love me some Sand Sports Super Show Glamis Babes. #girlsridetoo
Yesterday I spent the day at the Sand Sports Super Show. It's the most awesome sand toy show and means it's officially the beginning of riding season. It's finally cooling down! I got super awesome news that I can actually register my 2 wheeler without having to pay back registration from the years that the old owner didn't have it registered. YAY! We also have enough quads again. My brother and I grew out of our kid quads so we've been short for the past few years. My dad had given me his and we sold mine so we only had 2 quads for the 3 of us. Then we added Iman! But last year my dad bought my brother a new quad, and my dad just got himself a new quad. I can always ride the kid quad because I'm so little...oooor learn to ride my 2 wheeler!

I got to see a lot of old friends that I haven't seen in a year or two. Even a couple I hadn't seen in 6 or  so! I was so excited and now I cannot wait for the season to begin! Dad got me some cool new swag from Damzl, too. We also got some new riding gloves and riding socks. Woo! Of course my gear is all pink..

Pink quad, pink helmet, pink jersey and now PINK GLOVES
I was supposed to volunteer today, too. I had a headache when I woke up so we stayed home and we got $15 massages.

Today we said "see you later" to our favorite sushi chef. 6 months in Thailand!

Have a great week!

SoCal Friday

Today, I'm wishing I was not in the office, solely because Beach Fridays were my absolute favorite day of the week back in high school...Park Tuesdays came in second. I thought I'd tell you a little bit about what my favorite California Friday is [for the record, my senior year of high school we got out at 1 p.m., so every day was a fun day but we made it a point to go to the beach on Fridays, even if it rained. You're only a senior in high school once!]

My Perfect California Friday

9:00 a.m. Wake up! I wouldn't want to spend the whole day wasted in bed. That's what Sundays are for!
10:00 a.m. Grab an Acai bowl for breakfast, or a burrito from that one shop in Huntington Beach
11:00 a.m. Meet up with the best friends to hurry to the beach, it's already 80 degrees!
11:45 a.m. Finally found parking at the beach! While this may seem tedious [and can be] we like to make it fun by blaring our music and laughing.

2:00 p.m. I'm tired of laying in the sun, let's go walk the pier in Huntington and eat at Ruby's On The Pier!
3:00 p.m. Hmm, it's not too late to take PCH to Laguna to look at the shops. But we have to leave now or                  we'll get stuck in the canyon!
5:00 p.m. Should we go to Sawdust?
7:00 p.m. I kind of want to go home but it'd be so cool to see the sunset from Top of the World.
8:30 p.m. Okay, that sunset was super totally worth it!  Should we head down to San Clemente for a                            bonfire?
10:00 p.m. Maybe if we're reallly quiet, they won't notice we're still having a bonfire...and drinking alcohol.

Ok, so maybe this idea was more fun in my head, or I'm really delirious and this sounds crazy. But I've already written it and it actually is pretty typical of several of my days in the summer during high school and when I'd come home for the summer. Bonfires were always my favorite, Top of the World is somewhere I never seem to go enough, and, for some weird reason, we were always going to multiple beaches in one day. As if being lucky enough to be at the beach wasn't good enough.

We're spoiled. But I bet you've all gone to the beach more than me this summer. I haven't gone once. I'm cursed. If I make it known to the world that I am going to the beach tomorrow, then it will be overcast and cold tomorrow. It will be sunny by my house and as soon as I drive that 5 miles over to the more coastal area, we've got clouds and / or a breeze.

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Photoshoot

AH! I've been waiting for this day. I'm not sure why I was waiting and not posting...but I was waiting. These pictures haven't even gone on our Facebook yet and we've had them for over a month [and took them two months ago].

Our engagement photoshoot was a blast. Our photographer was an old high school friend who gave us an AMAZING deal. She made us feel super comfortable and we spent most of our time laughing [at Iman]. I believe I mentioned before here the whole story of our amazing photoshoot, but I just wanted to say thank you thank you again to Mica for making our day so wonderful. And super thanks to my MOH for coming out of her death bed to assist us with the paint throwing...even if I did get it in my mouth.

Without further ado, my favorites from our engagement photoshoot. Err. It was hard to cut it down to these, I might post more later :)

Typical us, and he picked out this dress :)

He's so michevious!

I love this, Mica did such a great job at capturing our tattoos
without it looking like a "pregnancy" pic

I'm taller for once!!

Right before it got intense...

He's still mad I got it in his ear...but I can't reach anywhere else!

Special effects from Molly

This is my mouth with blue paint in it

When we got engaged I did this pose (with my glasses on though)

This will probably be our save the date pic :)

Linking up for Wedding Wednesday like always!! :) Oh, and a post explaining my absence to come!

The Never List

Sometime in high school during a peak in my list-making past, I created a list of the things that I had never done and wanted to do. It included silly things [like going toiletpapering] and serious things [like falling in love]. Throughout the years, I have updated it and posted it on my Xanga.

I've forgotten about it for the last few years [curse becoming a grown up!] but this past week I've redone it!

  • Broken a bone
  • Been to an exotic country
  • Written a full book
  • Spent a day without worrying
  • Kept my room and closet clean for a year

Friend-Making Monday...on Tuesday

Okay, okay. I know it's not Monday anymore. But I suuuuper love answering questions like this. So I'm doing it anyway! It's nice to do little posts in between the big ones. This week is full of LIFE trying to get in the way of blogging, so I'll catch ya when I catch ya ;)

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

Ten Simple Questions
1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?  My hair will pass for Day 3.

2. Do you prefer to pay for things with cash or plastic?  I prefer to use my credit card to build my credit and it’s easier for me to track than cash buuut I need to get better at paying them off. Mreh.

3. What is one word that you use too often? I mean. It came up one day in Ohio and it’s still there 5 years later…

4. Who is the last person outside of your family who said “I love you” to you?  Uhhh, maybe a best friend?

5. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone and mailed it? I actually wrote two last week and one today.

6. Have you ever been called upon for jury duty?  No L and I really want to be

7.  How many keys are on your key ring?  Hmmm…3? One is for the doorhandle I had on my room last year…I just haven’t taken it off

8.  List two characteristics that you want to change about yourself.  I wish I stuck to my organization aaaand I wish that I was better at sticking with my financial goals (I understand what needs to be done, I just don’t stick with it…)

9.  Do you bring your own shampoo and conditioner when you travel, or do you use what the hotel provides?  I bring my own!

10. What is your birthstone?  Do you like it?  Alexandrite. Or the Pearl.  I love pearls! Alexandrite is pretty light for my taste

Friend Makin' Monday [Link Up Questionnaire]

Just Wondering

1. Do you wear glasses and/or contacts?
I wear glasses all day err day. I seriously cannot wait till my someday laser eye surgery. I would love to be able to see when I wake up! Truthfully, I will probably buy a pair of non prescription glasses and wear them anyway.

2. Do you have summer vacation plans? If so, where are you going?
No summer vacations this year. It’s all about working to save money for the wedding!

3. What is your favorite food to eat for breakfast?
My favorite breakfast side dish is definitely a taco. On that note, I could eat breakfast for every meal – sweet breakfast, savory breakfast, smoothies, etc

4. Do you enjoy window shopping?
Mreh, not particularly. Only if I need ideas for something.

5. What is your favorite candle scent?
Hmm, I happen to love cake batter and vanilla.

6. If you had to choose between going to a zoo or an aquarium, which one would you pick?
I love both! Probably the aquarium, though. I love to go to the tide pool part and see all of the different swimming organisms.

7. How many times do you plan to exercise this week?
I’m going to shoot for walking tonight and Thursday, moving tables tomorrow [seriously…I’m getting muscles from Tuesday night setups at Bdubs] and swimming on Monday and Friday

8. Do you speak another language fluently?
I bet if you made me speak Spanish fluently, I could. But I’m a chicken.

9. What are you currently reading?
Nothing because I’m horrible at time management.

10. What are you looking forward to most in the coming week?
Having time off with my honey!

P.s. Those promised blogs will be up soon!

Engagement Photoshoot!!!!

I have literally five minutes to post this on my lunch break because the Sbux Wi-Fi was being annoying but I just wanted to post our sneak peeks from our engagement shoot yesterday!!

Sneak Peek #1 from Mica!

After barely sleeping Saturday night [thanks to some 8th grade graduation celebration going on next door until 3 am], I woke up bright and early for a Sunday and got all ready for a day of adventure!!!

My mom curled my hair in loose ringlets, since my friend in hair school decided to go to Vegas instead, that I pulled into waves. My hair is naturally wavy, but also frizzy, so I decided to do this so that it could look natural and nice, but not frizzy and natural. It turned out fabulous!!

Then I quickly whipped up mini coconut cream pies and banana cream pies for dinner at a dear Ohio State friend's house. These turned out perfect! I should have taken pictures, but I put them in mini jars, inspired by Love From the Oven.

I rushed to MAC to get my makeup done - I was so worried it was going to look extreme, but it didn't! I bought some awesome coral lipgloss, with lip liner and nude lipstick. YAY for more girly makeup stuff.

Then came the good stuff!! Iman and I ended up eating at Lucille's because our photographer's power had gone out and she needed to finish charging the camera battery. It was so much fun just relaxing and having a Sweet Tea cocktail before. Our photographer, Mica, is a friend of Iman's but I had never met her so I was nervous. Luckily she is awkward like me so we got along great!!

We drove around South OC, trying to decide exactly where we wanted to go. We ended up at O'Neil Park for awhile, and found some great scenic places to do a regular photoshoot. I wore a white dress. AH! It's so real :)

Iman was so funny though. He fell off a cliff at our crazy hike on Memorial Day [not his first cliff to go off of either...] and had a cut on his knee that was healing. He managed to hit it during the photoshoot so flies kept buzzing around and he was freaking out.

My poor fiance. I tried my best to not laugh and wave the flies away...

Then we headed over to the creek area by my old house. It's awesome because we used to hang out at that park when we were in high school. i think it has sentimental value, not sure if the boy does.

We unleashed the paint!! Mister fiance is very competitive so let's just say I ended up more thoroughly covered in paint. I'm also shorter, so the majority of the paint went on my face. After some intense paint battles where I threw purple paint directly into his ear...my maid of honor came and helped us so we could get a pretty cloud of paint around us while we kissed.

That part was so much fun!!! Though awkward me did manager to get blue powder paint in her mouth aaaaand spit blue for a good 30 minutes. Did I mention I'm a hypochondriac. I checked the bottle like 15 times to make sure it was nontoxic and didn't swallow any saliva for that 30 mins.

Then we piled back in the car, rushed home and showered and was only 6 minutes late to our dinner date! #ManAreWeGood.

ANYWAY! I might be late back to work so I better scram. Happy [tired] Monday!

Raewyn

P.s. Miraculously, my MAC eye makeup survived all of that and I looked refined for dinner. SCORE. They might be magicians.
