WW: Healthy Breakfast Ideas

While I'm screaming because there are a few days left until my wedding, a few wonderful bloggers will be taking over my blog! I am so excited to be sharing these ladies with you! Jess has become my very first in real life - see on a regular basis blog friend! It makes me so happy that she is getting married, too. Of course, I had to have her for Wedding Wednesday!

_______________

Hey there Warrior Queens! Jess here from Jess Loves This Life!

As a gal in the beginning stages of her own wedding planning, I'm so excited to hang out with you all on Wedding Wednesday, aka my favorite day of the week here in blogland!

I've been engaged since January, but only recently started seriously thinking about our wedding day. I'm giddy with excitement to start wedding crafts, attend all the fun festivities leading up to our big day, and most importantly, go DRESS SHOPPING!!

Now, to say that I've been on a serious health kick to get in shape for my dress would be a total lie. It only just donned on me a few weeks ago that I actually need to buy a dress, nonetheless probably try on a few dresses before I find "the one". I'm eager to star in my own episode of Say Yes to the Dress (in my head of course) but before that happens, I need to get myself looking healthy! Healthy being the key point here. Today I'm sharing 3 easy and quick breakfast smoothies, and one overnight oats recipe for you brides on the go who are also seeking a healthy body for your big day. The idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day has been engraved in our heads since we were young, but really who has the time, right?!? The answer is, you do!

Breakfast idea: Overnight Oats & Chia Seeds
This is by far my favorite breakfast, and it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare! Make this a night before and wake up to a healthy and filling meal you can eat on your way out the door.

In a mason jar, add:
-1/2 cup of rolled oats
-1 tbsp. chia seeds
-1 cup pf almond milk
-1 tsp. honey or agave syrup
-a dash of cinnamon

Seal the jar and let it sit in the fridge overnight. The oats and chia seeds will expand and all the flavors will mix to create a sweet and delicious breakfast!

Smoothies are a go to when you're trying to get healthy! Here are 3 of my favorites...

Breakfast Smoothie Suggestion #1: Green Smoothie

Ingredients:
-handful of spinach
-handful of kale
-1 cup of coconut milk
-1 banana
-1/2 cup of pineapple
-1/2 of an avocado

I love how creamy and smooth this one is! I know the avocado sounds intimating, but trust me, it's AMAZING! Try it!!

Breakfast Smoothie Suggestion #2: Berry Medley Smoothie:

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup frozen blueberries
-1/2 cup Greek yogurt
-1 cup of almond milk
-1 tsp. honey or agave syrup
-your choice of protein powder (I use a vanilla flavored one)

Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Breakfast Smoothie Suggestion  #3: Hazelnut Coffee & Banana Smoothie

A personal favorite because you don't have to forgo a cup of coffee!

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup cold brewed coffee (I used Stumptown Coffee Roasters Cold Brew, but anything works)
-Protein powder (I used Green Superfood Chocolate protein powder. It's organic, has all the benefits of green superfoods, supports healthy energy levels, yada yada. It tastes really good!)
-1/2 cup of hazelnut milk
-1 whole banana, frozen

Blend, blend, blend!

Time saving tips:
*Prep your smoothie ahead of time by putting all your chopped up ingredients in a zip-lock bag and sticking it in the freezer
*Make your smoothie ahead of time, spread it into an ice cube tray and freeze. The night before, put the ice cubes into a cup and let them thaw overnight. You'll wake up to an already made, refreshing smoothie!

No matter how close or far away your wedding day is, never crash diet. It'll make you feel miserable, and you don't want to get pinned as a Bridezilla just because you're hungry! Take the time to invest in your health, and commit to not skipping meals in order to fit into your dress! You'll look beautiful regardless, because it's your day! What's your favorite breakfast go-to?

Thanks so much to the wonderful newlywed Raewyn for having me! And thanks so much to all of you for letting me share my breakfast ideas with you today! Don't forget to come say hello over on my little piece of the internet!

Thank you so much for taking over my blog because I've got some last minute stuff to do! [And thanks for the craft help last Friday!]
