Saturday Insta-Recap

So I'm watching the Ohio State game finally relaxing after a long, loooong week. I don't usually do recaps but I wanted to explain why I was MIA when I was posting daily for a few weeks. I also want to show my awesome Ohio State memes I found. I guess I will have to post my awesome OSU posts throughout the season.

Monday: I worked both jobs, essentially working from 8 a.m. - 12 a.m. I have also been doing freelance social media for my old boss, so that is what I do on my lunch break. I did make an extra $100 that I was not planning on making. I had some pretty awesome Draft Party tables!

Tuesday: I only worked at the auto shop, but it was a stressful day. We're in the midst of a transition to a new program and I'm taking on more work. I slept 4 hours this night.

Wednesday: I had a 10 minute speech, worked at the autoshop (through lunch), got off of work, went to Iman's work to eat dinner and then headed on over to work 6-12:30. It was a completely awesome shift. I was in dining and had a lot of draft parties. I was busy but everyone was totally cool and I ended up making my highest in tips ever. The whole day I was a zombie, but super appreciative of everything. On my way home I got hit by a hit and run driver. My car and I are mostly okay. I probably need an alignment and my neck has been hurting. Luckily I have my chiro visits. Iman was driving ahead of me so he was able to get the driver's license plate. We had to wait up until 1:45 for the CHP officers to come give them a statement. I'm not sure if they found the driver, but I hope so. I filed a claim on Thursday.

Thursday and Friday were just filled with being super busy at work and trying to rest when I got home. I'm behind by three days or so, plus it is a holiday weekend (we're open today and Monday), so I might be 5 days behind. Plus we have training next week for our new system. BUT I am planning on prescheduling posts so I don't run into the same problem.

Since it's Saturday...maybe an Instarecap? :)

Ohio State Carabox Wedding Wednesday

Well, if you can't tell, I attempted to craft all of the info that I want to put into one post [because I'm not cool enough to separate it] into one title. In one corner we'll have my love for Ohio State (highlighted in an image or two), in another corner my fabulous Carabox Reveal aaaand as the referee we'll bring in a little neutral Wedding Wednesday :P

My mind is delirious by the way, so that introduction might not make sense. If you follow me on Twitter or Insta you know how bad I am at sleeping and how good I am at working...

I want to start with my Carabox Reveal because I must say how absolutely THRILLED I am to have made friends with these two girls. I was matched with Jessica @ Champagne and Bliss [oh em gee, she lives in OHIO!!]. I sent her a box which I hope she absolutely loves. Go take a look at her reveal ;)

I was also matched with Bri @ Faithful Footprints who has had one rollercoaster of a month but has still managed to send me endless emails and get me the cutest gift box. Hang in there girl!!

Wait a second...did you say you don't know what a Carabox is? Well head on over to Wifessionals to find out. Things are changing for the next Carabox exchange and I am super excited about these changes.

This month's theme was all about ourselves as individuals. We were matched with someone in our age group / life cycle. I chose the group that was married, since I'm engaged and have been living with Iman for over a year now. WOAH.

Bri truly found the most perfect things for me - and I love her little note explaining it all [but not as much as the letter about our friendship!]

First, I saw some chapstick! I seriously cannot have enough of this stuff.

The next thing I opened were muffin mixes! Somehow she had my two favorite muffin flavors....aaand Frosting CREATIONS. Oh em gee, I have been wanting to try these for months, but haven't had any funds for the baking stockpile. [Probably the only thing I stockpile...]

Then some post it notes and fun pens. The office supply store is my heaven...and InkJoy happens to be my favorite pen. Everyone in the office knows that if they see an InkJoy on their desk they better return it to me!

A red mug [for my favorite color...also Ohio State's color...I'm just sayin...] and ginger peach black tea. Uh hi, my name is Raewyn and I love ginger and I love peach and tea is my favorite thing. My lock screen on my phone actually says "A cup of tea makes everything better."

Lastly! So I can have some more pink in my life [Why won't boys let us girls have a pink room in the house??] a "R" decal. I'm plotting the perfect placement of it...

Thank you so super much Bri! I appreciate it all, and especially our newfound friendship. Hang in there tomorrow for your dental procedure!

****

My Wedding Wednesday post is sort of minimal, but a big exciting announcement for myself.

I have mentioned before that Iman and I are paying for our wedding ourselves and sort of struggling with paying for it. But I have faith that everything will work out, especially with such a supportive group of family and friends. I know I keep saying how blessed we are that we have family and friends contributing but I wanted to just highlight how extra appreciative I am.

On Sunday at my brother's birthday dinner, my aunt told me that she'd like to pay for our florist -- to have big extravagant floral arrangement if that's what I wanted. I do prefer something on the small side but this now means that I will have someone setting up the flowers and centerpieces, making the boutineers and bouquets and can do more flowers than I originally thought. I just can't believe it, still.

My family has always been very supportive like this -as a child I spent weeks every summer at this aunt's house on vacation from my brother. Her daughter does the same at our house now. Apparently, her mother in law paid for all of the flower arrangements at her wedding back in the day and she wanted to pass on the favor.

Now I'm getting into flower planning mode! WOO!

One of my best friends, who is making our cupcakes, has also been talking to me a lot lately about the wedding. Currently, she is pregnant [officially announced last week, but I've known for awhile!!!] and due in January. I know my little niece or nephew - they find out next week - will be almost 3 months old at the time, but she will also have a 2 year old with her. I love my munchkin but she's never much help when mama and I bake. I didn't want her stressed out to the max so I asked her about it. Either she will be making them -- they're pretty plain and easy, if you can't tell extravagance is not my thing -- or an old classmate from her Chef school will be doing it at an affordable price.

It is so nice to see such things falling into place. Such a relief with all of the other stress in my life!!!

And one last Wedding Wednesday Ohio Love...I cannot wait to see many of these girls at the wedding!!

Freshman year dorms, Morrill Tower baby!

Columbus Eats

I'm not sure if you saw on the FB page yesterday, but I was swamped. Technically, I'm swamped today but I'm sneaking in this goodness because I can't miss another day of my awesome OHIO STATE WEEK that I have planned.

Okay, so if you're not an Ohio State fan, I accept your lack of reading my blog for the next week. But I am way too excited, and it will be fun Ohio State stuff, I swear. Plus I will still have Wedding Wednesday and you guys probably aren't as excited about college football as I am...but I am.

Without further ado...my favorite Ohio State / Columbus FOOD. Some of which you can get outside of the good ole OH

OSU Food Gone National

Buffalo Wild Wings -- I loved this place so much I now work there.
Delicious -- especially if you want to watch the game, stuff your face with wings, and have an awesome environment!!

Via

BONUS FACT: Jim and Scott's first Bdubs was at the Ohio State Campus, it has since been moved to Lane, but I still say that I've been to the original, because I've stood in the spot where the original was, before campus expanded.

Charley’s Subs -- My favorite place to get fries before I even attended OSU.
I had no idea that this place was from Ohio. I had only ever seen it at the Food Court at our outdoor mall. But man were their cheddar bacon fries perfect.

Via

BONUS FACT: The original was started as a class project, across the street from OSU and it is still there today! I spent many a lunch there.

Raising Cane's -- I think it was my happiest food day when I saw it open in Vegas.
The chicken just falls apart, deliciously moist and the Cane Sauce!! We've had recipes, but I've yet to try it.

Via

BONUS FACT: Whenever I flew home, In N Out and/or Tommy's was always my first meal, whenever I came back to Ohio my roommate would have Cane's waiting for me. Oh Cupcake, you were just the best!

Drunk Food

Buckeye Donuts -- (Open 24/7, 365) There's always a line down High Street for Donuts or gyros

Via

PJs -- OH MY GOD. Seriously, only open to serve you drunk food.

These sandwiches have things that you never thought to put in a sandwich together, but are absolutely perfect for your drunk food cravings.

Via

Fancy Shmancy Restaurants

Eddie George’s -- The football restaurant.
I only went once, and don't really remember the food, but I just love the decor, structure and idea behind it. WOO FOOTBALL.

Via

El Vaquero - My little slice of Mexican Heaven

Seriously was obsessed with this place. I had to leave campus to get it, but I was always begging someone to take me there. REAL MEXICAN FOOD. I mean real! I had chorizo. That's a big deal, guys.

Via

On Campus Couldn't Live Without

Oxley's By The Numbers -- A little coffee shop that had parfaits which I ate. Often. Plus it was our on campus bagel shop / coffee shop and it was the closest to my dorm. MM I want a Buckeye Parfait now!

Where are your favorite places to eat in your college town?

Friday Letters + Backthatazzup

Dear Nissan, Why you gotta do me like that? I've worked in the automotive industry for the past year including the service department of a dealership and a bodyshop..I know that you're supposed to replace the part on warranty work - not just "fix" it. So you'll be getting a phone call for me reimbursement for this part failure twice in less than a year on a 2012 model. Oh, and I got the part at cost price, but you're going to think I paid list.

Dear Co-Workers, Thank you for being so good to me and taking care of my beloved car when it breaks. Thanks for giving me the part at cost bossman!

Dear Bee, It's time you get a blog again so I can read about your life. El Toro Journalism Cult 4 Life.

Dear Hobby Lobby, thank you for finally opening one up near me! Now I can know what the buzz is all about...see you tomorrow!

Dear best friends, I am so excited about all of your excited things! Babies and careers and engagements OH MY!

Dear Fiance, you're the best best for bringing me coffee and taking care of me on your day off, and for making sure my car is okay, oh and  every other little thing you do!

And, because this is a completely unproductive post since I've written a post every day this week (CONGRATULATE ME!), I will do my very first #backthatazzup

Freaking obsessed and I am not usually a country girl.

Things You Should Know

I'm not going to lie, I'm excited about this one guys. I know I've mentioned it a few times but I used to be am obsessed with doing getting to know you surveys. I did them on my Xanga. I did them on Myspace Bulletins [sometimes I would have to stop myself because I did too many in one day] and, when it was acceptable, to do Facebook Notes I would do them and tag all of my best friends. It's not that I like to talk about myself all the time, it's more that I like to see the questions and answer them in weird ways. I think I will throw in a throwback and post one of my old ones. :P

If you could see any artist/band live which would you choose?

High Fiving Pat at my FIRST Train concert
Can I pick a festival that is put together with bands of my choosing? I think it would be a phenomenal line up and I'm not sure WHY it hasn't happened yet.

1. Christina Perri
2. Ingrid Michaelson
3. Sarah Barielles
4. Train
5. Matt Nathanson
6. Jason Mraz

p.s. CP and Train are phenomenal in concert.

My first Train concert [I've gone to 2]
p.s. that was a really good hair day. I miss my long hair, those perfect bangs, and that color!!

Which blog are you in love with that you only found out about recently?

First off, I want to admit something to you all. I'm trying really hard over here to keep up with all of the fun blogs I love. I've been working 60 hour weeks and posting everyday has been a challenge. But it's a challenge I've been trying to meet head on. Instead of spending all of my time reading blogs, I've been spending my time writing blogs and researching and growing friendships with a few bloggers who have reached out to me. BUT I know my schedule will lessen soon [because then I will be back to my usual 2 jobs] and then I can devote my time to my loves!!

With that being said, I just discovered Be So Happy yesterday and I'm experiencing a hcore blogcrush.

What hobbies do you have that we don't know about?

I like to sing Karaoke, which makes sense because I have a really loud personality. Actually I'm pretty shy when it comes to singing. It probably has something to do with the fact that I will sing ALL the time but when I was younger my best friends would say "Who sings that?" and I'd tell them and they'd respond with "Keep it that way." This made me think I was bad at singing and thus terrified to ever do karaoke.

Fast forward to 2010 when the owner of my restaurant made me be the first person ever to sing karaoke at our restaurant. Then it was fun. AND THEN my friend suggested I sing Cherry Bomb. The rest is history. It is requested that I sing it every week - regardless if I'm working or not - and then everyone always stares at me like "How in the world did that come out of that sweet little girl?" mwahaha.

If money wasn't a problem.. what would be your dream destination?

I used to think Australia [Aussieland]. But then I decided that it's just so far away and I wouldn't want to go in the Outback so really I would just be going to another city. Unlike other places, there would probably be people there who had my name. That's not cool!

So now I've decided that I would love to go to the Caribbean. I'm talking about a bunch of little islands like Antigua. We might get to do this for our Honeymoon!!

If you could meet any blogger in person, who would you pick?

All of my new blogging friends!!! But specifically Megalin because, hello, we actually know the same people. Also, one time we had a 3 hour phone conversation. So I know we could talk and hang.

What's something we may not know about you?

You might not know thaaat I have really weird allergies. Here's the list!

Aloe Vera.
Blueberries. Blackberries. Boysenberries [really, it used to be anything blue that I could eat...]
Pineapples

Please, tell me all about how my life is cursed by these allergies. #NoFruitPlatters #ItSucksWhenImSunburned

Wedding Wednesday: To Do

A few weeks ago, I mentioned my budget woes. On the bright side - I've got that handled! I finally made a sort of budget and started working through everything. On the downside - it is ridiculously expensive and I'm not sure where the money will come from. I know that I have a lot of people who love and support us and will do anything for us.
