45 Weeks of Doing Good

Erykka and I decided to do the #dogood52ways challenge from the Do Good Bus. Every Wednesday night, we draw a new paper from the jar; complete the task; and invite our blog readers to partake. For more information on how this started go here.

This past week's challenge was so much fun and I really hope you participated in it!!

I meant to do this before Tuesday so I could track the numbers and see if the receiver won anything but I was a slacker [and/or too tired from my bachelorette...whichever excuse you prefer].

I ended up leaving the lotto ticket in a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf bathroom. Iman says that it doesn't coult as giving it to a stranger. But I'm like a little kid and I don't like to talk to strangers. I mean, what if they threw my lotto ticket in my face? Yeah...you're right that probably wouldn't have happened.

Anyway, if you want to see something absolutely sweet, here is that video I posted last week about the homeless man and the lotto ticket. :)

This week's challenge is another do good for your soul type of challenge!

I must admit, I talk to my mom on a daily basis. Iman and I are currently living with her and sometimes, when he asks me for things, he has to wait a half hour or something because I get stuck talking and listening to my momma.

So, I'm going to do a spin on this one and make it a little more in depth. I'm going to have a deep conversation with both of my grandmothers and my godmother.

In yo face Do Good Challenge!!

Actually, this is another perfectly timed draw for me [seriously, Tut, you're on par.] Saturday is my bridal shower and I will be seeing all of these lovely ladies. I may not have time to chat with all of them deeply, but after the shower I can call them and catch up. That's my plan. To spend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's drives home catching up with them.

While I'm at it, I will probably call my aunty and my cousin, too.

If you currently see your mother very often and have a healthy relationship, I definitely invite you to call another motherly figure in your life and have a deep conversation with her. The women role models in our lives have such powerful insight.

I'll be linking this bad boy up with Ashley @ Modernette's Stay Golden #PositiveThursday link up and I invite you to link up your #dogood52ways posts over there, too!!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. The lottery ticket is such a good idea! It's so simple and could make someones day, even if they don't win!

  3. Hey girlie! Sopping by from the Stay Golden linkup! I love little random acts of kindness, so I think giving the lotto ticket to a random person is such a fun idea. :)

  5. I love RAK, too! I have more fun when I think them up on my own, but partaking in this challenge definitely helps me to think up other ideas. I post about them here and on Instagram (raetothewyn) on Thursdays if you want to join in!

  7. This is so awesome! I would probably give the lottery ticket to someone I know also. I would love to know if they won. I like this week's one. I must admit, I don't talk to my mom quite as much as I should.

  8. I'm just like you. I would have been awkward just walking up to a random person and handing them a lotto ticket. I probably would have done the same thing. That's awesome that you're putting a spin on your challenge! Yay for your bridal shower!!

  9. I have to admit- I'd be totally mad if my ticket ended up being a winner!! I know that is the point… to wish good for someone else. But i never win!!
