Wedding Wednesday: I Moustache You a Question

Today, I am dedicating my Wedding Wednesday to an amazing group of girls...my bridesmaids (and honorary bridesmaids!!) These girls have been meticulously planning my bachelorette weekend for months [T-MINUS 2 DAYS YOU GUYS].

I got this idea from Breckenridge Clare @ Whim of the South from her post today!

So I thought I'd do some highlighting of my girls' fabulousness and the adorable way that I asked them to be my bridesmaids.

My bridesmaids and one of the two junior bridesmaids

Let's start with my maid of honor knew she was going to be my bridesmaid, since I asked her on the phone as I was coming down the mountain from the proposal. The other girls, were probably less sure. I have a great group of girlfriends. Iman has a slightly smaller group of guy friends, so some of my girls became "honorary bridesmaids." They're coming to all of the fun stuff, but aren't standing at the end of the aisle with me.

This is due to the fact that I went to a wedding recently that had more groomsmen than bridesmaids and it looked weird.

I put together these cute little boxes for the girls! [I put these together before I was a good blogger, thus I did not take pictures of the process...]

I bought the boxes from Michael's, along with some heart stickers and a glittery wood letter of their first initial. For my maid of honor, I got her MOH. Which is a play on words because her nickname is Mo, so it was sort of perfect.

I painted the outside of the box white, glued a moustache on top and stuck the sticker on the side. I knew I wanted to use moustaches because I thought this was the only time I would be able to incorporate moustaches into my wedding. [I was wrong].

The inside included the wood letter on top of some shredded paper filler and a couple of pieces of cardstock.

The first had a cute poem I used to ask the girls.

The second had the other girls who are bridesmaids, and a personal note for the recipient.

The third included the style of dress I'd like them to wear.

The fourth included important information.

I can't wait to show you the dresses they picked! That's going to have to wait until I see them in the proper color in person [curse you David's Bridal for taking weeks to arrive!]

How did you ask your bridesmaids?

  1. Aww these are so cute! I love these boxes. I wish I had done something similar for my girls, but I did send them hand written notes with "Will you be my bridesmaid" on the front. I love this! I can't wait to hear about your bachelorette party. Woot woot!

  2. How sweet. I am not getting married but I am a bridesmaid in May. My friend printed out photos of us and wrote a sweet message in it. It was in a box on my doorstep one day after work. I love that you are chill as a bride by the way.

  4. What a fun way to ask your bridesmaids! I love your incorporate of mustaches into everything! So fabulous. Also, I agree that it looks weird if there aren't the same number of groomsmen and bridesmaids. I want it to be even.
