5 Little Grins

We'll go ahead and say it: Most people think Mondays suck / are the worst / should die a fire-y death. I'm sure you get the picture.

We've all had our fair share of bad Mondays and bad Tuesdays and just plain ol' bad days. Instead of focusing on the bad, what if we focused on the good things?

What if we focused on the little things that made us smile today, yesterday, last week? Could our whole attitude change? In time, would we find that we're having more good days than bad?

Cassandra, Paulina and I would love for you to join us on our weekly link up counting at least 5 things that made you smile in the last week. We could start our Mondays on this positive note!

Of course, this is all about encouragement, so hop on over to some other blogs and leave a positive note and make a new friend!
The Rules! (These are really just kind suggestions)

1. Follow your hosts: Cassandra, Raewyn, and Paulina!

2. Link up your post that includes 5-ish things that made you smile in the past week

3. Comment after you link up

4. Go visit some other blogs and make some friends!

5. Have fun, and don't forget to smile!!

This week there is so much that made me smile!
I'll try to keep it to five ;)

1. One of my students made me a Halloween  card!!!!! I was so excited, especially since I've only taught them for one week!

2. On Friday, I had breakfast at my all-time favorite bagel place with a high school friend. We celebrated 10 years of close friendship. I cannot believe it has been this long! Also, no place ever gets it quite like Bagels and Brew and I literally get sad whenever I have a bagel sandwich anywhere else.

3. Yesterday at the Eagles'  game I was STOKED to see people reppin the Pryor jersey! If only they were wearing #35 Chimdi Chekwa ;) The game was a tough one to watch because I wanted my Eagles to win (which they did) but  it is so ingrained in me to cheer for Pryor and Chekwa!!!! Either way, so glad those boys are making it big. #OSU

4. Hi, I have an amazing fiance and we had a wonderful anniversary weekend!! That's pretty much enough said. Although, I think he may have fell in love with small town NorCal.

5. It's National Novel Writing Month and I'm participating. I'm proud of myself for coming up with my idea and I love to watch it grow. Time to get some blogs prepped so I can write, write, write that novel!

What made you grin? Link up below!

  2. Thanks! You're supposed to write everyday (1,600 words a day) but I was gone, so I am just going to go at my pace and hopefully make the 50k!!

  5. I decided to forgo NaNoWriMo this year and make a goal to join up next year. While I blog daily, my creative writing is a little stiff. I need to get those juices flowing again before I can feel confident to do something like NaNoWriMo. I did decide to do a Friday posts this month with a NaBloPoMo prompt, so that should be fun!

  6. I'm doing NaNoWriMo because I want my creative juices flowing! Once I put my mind to it, it started coming out, too! I'm trying to write all of my blog posts for this week today so that I can get back to novel writing! Woo hoo! Good luck with your NaBloPoMo prompts!! I think I am going to do those next month, since this month I wanted to focus on a novel.

  7. YAY to writing. I should pick that up again and finish at least one of the ideas I have that are half started in notebooks! and glad you had a fun weekend even though it didn't involve texting me the whole time.

  8. I can't decide if coming up with a good plot or actually writing the novel would be the hardest part of nanowrimo...I've never done it yet. Maybe someday, but I have no great novel ideas at the moment! :P

  9. When I decided to do this month I had no great idea and barely any confidence in my creative writing. Once I tried to write a novel in high school, whenever I read it now I laugh and think of how juvenile the whole thing sounds. I was worried about the plot and the writing and then decided not to think of any of it.

I took one line that I hastily thought up the night before, looked up a name, and started writing! The rest of it just sort of came to me! I'm only 1,555 words in, but I am excited to see where it goes.
